Nimonic Fasteners - Bolts, Screws & Nuts

Nimonic fasteners are best known for their high temperature, low-creep attributes. They are comprised primarily of nickel and chromium – typically more than 50% nickel and 20% chromium – along with other additive such as titanium and aluminum. Due to their ability to withstand extreme temperatures and pressure, they are often used in aircraft parts and gas turbine exhaust applications as well as high temperature furnace applications. Nimonic fasteners are available in two different alloy grades with slightly different capabilities.

Nimonic 75
Nimonic 75 fasteners have good mechanical properties and oxidation resistance at high temperatures to 1200°F (650°C).  Comparable to Inconel 600, Nimonic 75 bolts are primarily used when oxidation and scaling resistance are required in high temperature conditions.

Nimonic 80A
Nimonic 80A fasteners are similar in composition to Nimoic 75 but are age hardened to offer much higher strengths. Nimonic 80A bolts offer a good combination of corrosion and oxidation resistance, while maintaining high levels for strength to temperatures as high as 1500°F (815°C).

Availability

Nimonic fasteners are is available both Nimonic 75 and 80A. We offer these a wide variety of screw styles, as well as other fastener products. Raychin has a minimum line quantity of appoximately 20 pieces for most fasteners. The normal lead time is around 3-4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the request.

Nimonic Screws  

12 Point Screws	12 point screws are best suited for applications that require higher torque than socket head cap screws. The only drawback is they are be less economical and require a higher minimum quantity due to the complex head design. Button Head Cap Screws	Nimonic button head screws are typically used when a wide clamping area and low profile fastener is needed. These screws are often used for fastening a material that is too thin to counter bore.	• ASME B18.3 • ASME 18.3.4M • DIN 7380 / ISO 7380
Flat Head Screws	Standard Nimonic flat head screws have an 82° countersink angle. They can also be customerized to other angles from 60° -120° upon request. Nimonic flat heads are designed to be flush with the surface and can be made with a slotted and socket drivers. Hex Head Cap Screws	Nimonic hex head cap screws are perhaps the most commonly used style and feature an added washer face that isn't part of a hex head bolt. This washer face provides tighter dimensional tolerances. Pan Head Screws	Nimonic pan head screws feature a rounded head style and are most commonly available with a slotted driver. Security Screws	When unwanted tampering or removal is an issue, Nimonic security screws provide a solution since they cannot be removed using an common driver. Tamper-proof security screws can be made in a wide variety of driver styles, as well as custom per print.

Vented Screws	Nimonic vented screws offer users a way to out-gas application contaminents through a vertical hole drilled from the screw head through the threaded shaft. Vented screws are ideal for vacuums / high vacuums. Nimonic vented screws are available a variety of head styles.

Lock Nuts	Nimonic lock nuts are available in all-metal (stover, flexloc, etc.) and polymer (nylon) insert styles. All-metal lock nuts are idea for high temperatures and even load distribution. Studs	Nimonic studs are available in fully-threaded or partially-threaded lengths of rod that are under 12" long. Available in any custom length.	• ASME B18.31.2 • DIN 976
