‌What are ASTM A193 and ASTM A194?

ASTM A193 and ASTM A194 are two important standards for standard specifications of alloy steel and stainless steel bolt materials for high-temperature equipment and high-temperature or high-pressure nuts.

ASTM A193 standard:

The ASTM A193 standard mainly specifies the technical requirements for alloy steel and stainless steel bolt materials for high-temperature equipment. The standard covers a variety of performance grades, and the commonly used ones include Gr.B6, Gr.B7, Gr.B7M, Gr.B8, Gr.B8M, Gr.B8-2, Gr.B8M-2 and Gr.B16. These grades are suitable for different application scenarios. For example, Gr.B6 is suitable for general engineering applications, while Gr.B7 and Gr.B16 are suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments.

ASTM A194 standard:

The ASTM A194 standard specifies the standard specifications for high temperature or high pressure nuts. Common performance grades include Gr.2H, Gr.2HM, Gr.4, Gr.6, Gr.7, Gr.7M, Gr.8 and Gr.8M. These grades of nuts can withstand high temperatures and pressures and are suitable for various high-temperature and high-pressure equipment, such as pressure pipes, high- and medium-pressure valves, and marine equipment.

Application:

Bolts and nuts of ASTM A193 and ASTM A194 standards are widely used in various high-temperature and high-pressure equipment, such as pressure pipes, high- and medium-pressure valves, and marine equipment. Fastener products of these materials can maintain stable performance under extreme temperature and pressure conditions to ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
