RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in 17-4 PH set screws — from 17-4 PH socket set screws, 17-4 PH square head set screws, 17-4 PH hex socket set screws, 17-4 PH cup point set screws, 17-4 PH cone point set screws, 17-4 PH flat point set screws, 17-4 PH oval point set screws, 17-4 PH half dog point set screws to custom non-standard set screw configurations. Our portfolio includes set screws manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for extreme environments: aerospace, oil & gas, medical devices, robotics, and marine industries where high temperature resistance and corrosion protection are critical. 17-4 PH set screws are available in all heat treatment conditions with precision ground points and full traceability.
17-4 PH socket set screws with cup point manufactured to DIN 913, ISO 4026, and ASME B18.3. Cup point provides maximum holding power by biting into the mating shaft. Ideal for permanent or semi-permanent mounting of gears, pulleys, and collars on shafts. Available in sizes from #0 to 1" (M1.6 to M24) with hex socket drive.
17-4 PH socket set screws with cone point manufactured to DIN 914, ISO 4027, and ASME B18.3. Cone point is designed for use in conical seats or where precise positioning is required. The sharp point provides excellent initial penetration and seating. Ideal for applications requiring exact axial location.
17-4 PH socket set screws with flat point (DIN 915, ISO 4028) for applications requiring frequent adjustment without shaft damage. 17-4 PH socket set screws with oval point for applications where shaft scoring must be minimized. Available in all standard sizes with full traceability.
17-4 PH socket set screws with half dog point manufactured to DIN 916, ISO 4029, and ASME B18.3. The half dog point fits into a drilled hole in the shaft for positive locking and location. Ideal for applications requiring the set screw to carry thrust loads or provide positive positioning.
17-4 PH square head set screws manufactured to ASME B18.2.2 and DIN 478. Designed for applications where socket drive is not practical or where higher torques are required. Available with cup, cone, flat, and half dog points. Ideal for heavy industrial applications and equipment requiring frequent adjustment with wrenches.
Need a special point geometry, unusual length, or custom drive configuration? RAYCHIN engineers work with you to produce custom 17-4 PH set screws to your drawing. Expert heat treatment (H900, H925, H1025, H1075, H1100, H1150, H1150M, H1150D) precisely controlled for each batch. Manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN, KS standards. Precision ground points and special end finishes available.
Most common point style. The cup digs into the shaft for maximum holding power. Best for permanent mounting on soft or medium hardness shafts.
Sharp 90° cone for use in conical seats or where precise positioning is needed. Provides excellent axial location.
Ground flat end for frequent adjustment without shaft damage. Ideal for applications requiring repeated repositioning.
Rounded end minimizes shaft scoring. Used where shaft surface must be protected.
Fits into drilled hole in shaft for positive locking and thrust load capability. Maximum holding strength.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH set screws to the following national and international standards, ensuring full compliance for projects worldwide. Both standard and non-standard custom configurations are available.
To serve clients worldwide, RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH set screws from material conforming to the following national and international specifications. This ensures full compliance for projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
ASTM A564 GR.630 ASTM A193 GR.630 AMS 5643 1.4542 SUS630 UNS S17400 17-4PH
Our 17-4 PH set screws are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM A564 / AMS 5604. The precise addition of copper and niobium enables age-hardening to achieve high strength.
Expert note: The Nb/Cu ratio ensures consistent precipitation of coherent copper-rich clusters during aging. This yields tensile strengths up to 190 ksi (1310 MPa) in the H900 condition while retaining good ductility. All raw material is positively identified by PMI (Positive Material Identification) and certified with mill test reports.
17-4 PH set screws are typically supplied in one of eight standard heat treatment conditions. RAYCHIN LIMITED recommends the appropriate temper based on your strength vs. toughness requirements. The data below represent minimum values for the material (longitudinal direction) per ASTM A564/A564M Table 3.
Additionally, 17-4 PH set screws exhibit excellent fracture toughness and very high fatigue strength. Our test certificates include actual values from each production lot. For sour service (NACE MR0175), H1150M or H1150D conditions are recommended for optimal sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance.
17-4 PH stainless steel is widely used in applications requiring retention of mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. The material maintains excellent strength up to 400°C (752°F), beyond which copper-rich precipitates begin to coarsen. For continuous service, maximum operating temperature is approximately 316-400°C depending on condition.
The yield strength of 17-4 PH decreases with increasing temperature, with thermal softening becoming significant above 400°C. For applications requiring strength retention above 400°C, special heat treatments or alternative alloys should be considered.
17-4 PH stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 304 stainless steel in many environments, attributed to its high chromium content (15-17.5%) which forms a protective Cr₂O₃ passive layer. The corrosion behavior is significantly influenced by heat treatment condition and aging parameters.
Corrosion Engineering Note: For critical applications in aggressive environments, RAYCHIN LIMITED can provide passivation, specialized coatings (Xylan, PTFE, silver plating), or recommend optimal heat treatment conditions (H1150, H1150M for maximum stress corrosion cracking resistance). Third-party corrosion testing per ASTM G31, G48, or G61 available upon request. NACE MR0175 compliant set screws available in H1150M and H1150D conditions.
For critical applications in aerospace, gas turbines, and high-temperature service, RAYCHIN offers 17-4 PH set screws manufactured to NAS, MS, DIN, ISO, and customer-specific specifications. Our capabilities include:
All 17-4 PH set screws are supplied in conditions H900 through H1150D, with full traceability and third-party NDT upon request.
