RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in 17-4 PH Torx screws — from 17-4 PH star drive screws, 17-4 PH hexalobular socket screws, 17-4 PH Torx pan head screws, 17-4 PH Torx button head screws, 17-4 PH Torx flat head screws to custom non-standard Torx screw configurations. The Torx drive system, standardized under ISO 10664, offers superior torque transfer, resists cam-out, and reduces driver bit wear compared to conventional drives. Our portfolio includes Torx screws manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for extreme environments: aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical devices, and marine industries where high temperature resistance and corrosion protection are critical. 17-4 PH Torx screws are available in all heat treatment conditions with precision rolled threads and full traceability.
17-4 PH Torx pan head screws with rounded top and flat bearing surface. Manufactured to ISO 14579 and ASME B18.3 specifications. The Torx drive (hexalobular internal) provides high torque transmission without cam-out. Ideal for general industrial applications, electronics, and automotive assemblies. Available in sizes from #2 to 1" (M2 to M24). Heat treated to H900 through H1150 conditions for tensile strengths up to 190 ksi (1310 MPa).
17-4 PH Torx button head screws with low-profile domed head for applications requiring smooth appearance and reduced head height. Manufactured to ISO 14580 and ASME B18.3. The Torx drive allows for higher torque capacity than hex heads while maintaining a compact envelope. Ideal for limited clearance applications in aerospace, medical devices, and precision equipment. Available in all standard sizes with full traceability.
17-4 PH Torx flat head screws (countersunk) for flush mounting applications. Manufactured to ISO 14582 and ASME B18.3. Available in 82° and 90° head angles for inch and metric sizes. The Torx drive provides positive engagement and reduces the risk of recess damage during installation. Ideal for aerospace and defense applications where flush surfaces are required.
17-4 PH Torx socket head cap screws combining the high strength of socket head screws with the superior torque transfer of Torx drive. Manufactured to ISO 14579 and DIN 7984. The hexalobular socket (Torx) drives without cam-out and extends tool life. Available in diameters from M3 to M20 with various thread lengths. Ideal for high-vibration applications and automated assembly lines.
17-4 PH Torx screws manufactured to NAS, AN, and MS specifications. Available with UNJF-3A threads per MIL-S-8879 for enhanced fatigue life. Torx drive provides consistent torque transfer critical for aerospace assemblies. Shot peened per aerospace requirements and available with silver or cadmium plating for anti-galling. Full traceability with material certification and third-party testing available.
Need a special head configuration, unusual drive size, or custom thread combination? RAYCHIN engineers work with you to produce custom 17-4 PH Torx screws to your drawing. Expert heat treatment (H900, H925, H1025, H1075, H1100, H1150, H1150M, H1150D) precisely controlled for each batch. Manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN, KS standards. Custom drive depths and tamper-resistant configurations available.
Unlike Phillips drives that are designed to cam-out, Torx drives resist cam-out, allowing higher torque transmission and reducing driver bit wear.
The star-shaped pattern distributes forces across multiple flanks, reducing stress on both the screw head and driver bit. Torx bits last significantly longer than hex or Phillips bits.
Torx drive systems can transmit up to 40% more torque than conventional hex drives for the same head size, critical for high-strength 17-4 PH fasteners.
Torx drives are less common than Phillips or slotted drives, providing inherent tamper resistance. Security Torx variants with center pins are available for anti-tamper applications.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH Torx screws to the following national and international standards, ensuring full compliance for projects worldwide. The Torx drive interface conforms to ISO 10664 (hexalobular drives). Both standard and non-standard custom configurations are available.
To serve clients worldwide, RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH Torx screws from material conforming to the following national and international specifications. This ensures full compliance for projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
ASTM A564 GR.630 ASTM A193 GR.630 ASTM F593 GR.630 AMS 5643 1.4542 SUS630 UNS S17400 NACE MR0175 17-4PH
Our 17-4 PH Torx screws are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM A564 / AMS 5604. The precise addition of copper and niobium enables age-hardening to achieve high strength.
Expert note: The Nb/Cu ratio ensures consistent precipitation of coherent copper-rich clusters during aging. This yields tensile strengths up to 190 ksi (1310 MPa) in the H900 condition while retaining good ductility. 17-4 PH is up to 4x stronger than 316 stainless steel. All raw material is positively identified by PMI (Positive Material Identification) and certified with mill test reports.
17-4 PH Torx screws are available in eight standard heat treatment conditions. RAYCHIN LIMITED recommends the appropriate temper based on your strength vs. toughness requirements. The data below represent minimum values for the material (longitudinal direction) per ASTM A564 Table 3.
Additionally, 17-4 PH Torx screws exhibit excellent fracture toughness and very high fatigue strength. Our test certificates include actual values from each production lot. For sour service (NACE MR0175), H1150M or H1150D conditions are recommended for optimal sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance.
17-4 PH stainless steel maintains excellent mechanical properties up to 316°C (600°F), making it ideal for high-temperature applications in aerospace, power generation, and automotive systems.
17-4 PH maintains its mechanical strength up to 600°F (316°C), with good properties retained even at higher temperatures. For continuous service above 400°C, special heat treatments or alternative alloys should be considered. Avoid long-term exposure to temperatures between 370-480°C to prevent loss of toughness at ambient temperature.
17-4 PH stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 304 stainless steel in many environments, attributed to its high chromium content (15-17.5%) which forms a protective Cr₂O₃ passive layer. The corrosion behavior is significantly influenced by heat treatment condition and aging parameters.
Corrosion Engineering Note: For critical applications in aggressive environments, RAYCHIN LIMITED can provide passivation, specialized coatings (Xylan, PTFE, silver plating), or recommend optimal heat treatment conditions (H1150, H1150M for maximum stress corrosion cracking resistance). Third-party corrosion testing per ASTM G31, G48, or G61 available upon request. NACE MR0175 compliant Torx screws available in H1150M and H1150D conditions.
For critical applications requiring superior torque transfer and drive reliability, RAYCHIN offers 17-4 PH Torx screws manufactured to NAS, MS, DIN, ISO, and customer-specific specifications. Our capabilities include:
