RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in 310 stainless steel Torx screws — from 310 SS star drive screws, 310 SS hexalobular socket screws, 310 SS Torx pan head screws, 310 SS Torx button head screws, 310 SS Torx flat head screws to custom non-standard Torx screw configurations. The Torx drive system, standardized under ISO 10664, offers superior torque transfer, resists cam-out, and reduces driver bit wear compared to conventional drives. Grade 310 (UNS S31000) is a high-carbon austenitic stainless steel with 25% chromium and 20% nickel, developed specifically for high-temperature service up to 1150°C (2100°F). It offers exceptional oxidation resistance and creep strength, making it ideal for furnace equipment, heat treatment fixtures, power generation, and chemical processing applications. Our portfolio includes Torx screws manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for extreme high-temperature environments where oxidation resistance, mechanical strength, and drive reliability are critical. 310 stainless steel Torx screws are available in solution annealed condition with full traceability.
Unlike Phillips drives that are designed to cam-out, Torx drives resist cam-out, allowing higher torque transmission and reducing driver bit wear.
The star-shaped pattern distributes forces across multiple flanks, reducing stress on both the screw head and driver bit. Torx bits last significantly longer than hex or Phillips bits.
Torx drive systems can transmit up to 40% more torque than conventional hex drives for the same head size, critical for high-strength high-temperature applications.
Torx drives are less common than Phillips or slotted drives, providing inherent tamper resistance. Security Torx variants with center pins are available for anti-tamper applications.
310 stainless steel Torx pan head screws with rounded top and flat bearing surface. Manufactured to ISO 14579 and ASME B18.3 specifications. The Torx drive (hexalobular internal) provides high torque transmission without cam-out. Ideal for furnace equipment, heat treatment fixtures, and high-temperature assemblies. Available in sizes from #2 to 1" (M2 to M24). Heat treated in solution annealed condition for exceptional oxidation resistance up to 1150°C.
310 stainless steel Torx button head screws with low-profile domed head for applications requiring smooth appearance and reduced head height. Manufactured to ISO 14580 and ASME B18.3. The Torx drive allows for higher torque capacity than hex heads while maintaining a compact envelope. Ideal for limited clearance applications in furnace construction, power generation, and high-temperature equipment.
310 stainless steel Torx flat head screws (countersunk) for flush mounting applications. Manufactured to ISO 14582 and ASME B18.3. Available in 82° (inch) and 90° (metric) head angles. The Torx drive provides positive engagement and reduces the risk of recess damage during installation. Ideal for furnace panel attachments, boiler access covers, and high-temperature applications where flush surfaces are required.
310 stainless steel Torx socket head cap screws combining the high strength of socket head screws with the superior torque transfer of Torx drive. Manufactured to ISO 14579 and DIN 7984. The hexalobular socket (Torx) drives without cam-out and extends tool life. Available in diameters from M3 to M20 with various thread lengths. Ideal for high-vibration furnace applications and automated assembly lines in high-temperature environments.
310 stainless steel Torx screws manufactured to NAS, AN, and MS specifications. Available with UNJF-3A threads per MIL-S-8879 for enhanced fatigue life. Torx drive provides consistent torque transfer critical for aerospace assemblies. Shot peened per aerospace requirements and available with silver or cadmium plating for anti-galling. Full traceability with material certification and third-party testing available.

UNS S31000 UNS S31008 1.4845 X8CrNi25-21 SUS310 ASTM A479 AMS 5521
Our 310 stainless steel Torx screws are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM A479 / UNS S31000. The high chromium (25%) and nickel (20%) content provide exceptional oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength. The high carbon content ensures excellent creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
Expert note: The high chromium content (25%) forms a protective Cr₂O₃ layer that provides exceptional oxidation resistance up to 1150°C (2100°F). The high nickel content (20%) stabilizes the austenitic structure and provides excellent resistance to carburization and thermal fatigue. For improved weldability and resistance to sensitization, 310S (UNS S31008) with lower carbon (0.08% max) is available. 310H (UNS S31009) with controlled carbon range (0.04-0.10%) is available for applications requiring optimum creep strength.
310 stainless steel Torx screws are supplied in the solution annealed condition (1040°C minimum followed by water quenching). The data below represent minimum values per ASTM A479 and EN 10088-3.
Grade 310 is specifically designed for high-temperature service. Its high chromium and nickel content provide exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling, while maintaining good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. 310 stainless steel Torx screws are widely used in furnace applications, heat treatment equipment, and power generation components.
The excellent oxidation resistance is due to the formation of a tight, adherent Cr₂O₃ scale that protects the underlying metal. This protective layer reforms rapidly if damaged, provided sufficient chromium is available. 310 also offers good resistance to sulfidation and other forms of hot corrosion, outperforming lower alloy grades.
The table below shows typical mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Note that strength decreases with increasing temperature, but 310 maintains useful strength up to its maximum service temperature.
For applications requiring long-term stress at elevated temperatures, creep and rupture strength are critical considerations. 310 stainless steel offers excellent creep resistance due to its high carbon content and fully austenitic structure. Typical 10,000-hour rupture strength values:
While 310 is primarily selected for high-temperature applications, it also offers excellent corrosion resistance in many environments due to its high chromium and nickel content.
The high chromium content (25%) provides exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling. 310 stainless steel Torx screws can be used in air up to 1150°C (2100°F) continuously without significant scaling. In intermittent service, the maximum temperature is slightly lower at 1095°C (2000°F). The material maintains excellent oxidation resistance under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000°F.
High-Temperature Engineering Note: For critical applications in high-temperature environments, RAYCHIN LIMITED can provide specialized surface treatments, passivation, or recommend optimal heat treatment conditions. Third-party testing per ASTM standards available upon request.
