Alloy 330 Fasteners

Alloy 330 Button Head Cap Screws

Alloy 330 Button Head Cap Screws are specifically designed for high temperature furnace applications such as vacuum furnaces, heat treating and brazing applications. The most prized trait of alloy 330 is its ability perform under cyclic conditions of temperature extremes from heating and cooling; as well as in alternate carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres. An austenitic, nickel-chromium-iron-silicon alloy, Alloy 330 Button Head Cap Screws also offer industry a low coefficient of expansion, excellent ductility, and high strength.

Chemical Composition (Weight %) – Alloy 330 (UNS N08330 / 1.4886)

Our Alloy 330 button head cap screws are produced from certified melts conforming to ASTM B408 limits:

ElementASTM B408 / UNS N08330 Range %Typical
Carbon (C)≤ 0.080.05
Silicon (Si)1.00 – 2.001.50
Manganese (Mn)≤ 2.001.0
Phosphorus (P)≤ 0.0400.020
Sulfur (S)≤ 0.0300.010
Chromium (Cr)18.0 – 21.019.5
Nickel (Ni)33.0 – 37.035.0
Iron (Fe)BalanceBalance
Metallurgical note: The combination of high nickel (34‑37%) and chromium (18‑21%) with silicon (1‑2%) gives Alloy 330 its signature resistance to oxidation and carburization at temperatures up to 1150°C. Ideal for button head cap screws used in cyclic heating/cooling environments.

Corrosion Resistance of Alloy 330 Button Head Cap Screws

While Alloy 330 is optimized for high‑temperature environments, it offers good resistance to many corrosive conditions:

  • Oxidation & sulfidation: Exceptional resistance in air, combustion gases, and sulfur‑bearing atmospheres up to 1150°C.
  • Carburization: High nickel content (≥33%) provides excellent resistance to carbon absorption.
  • Nitriding: Resists nitrogen penetration in ammonia-based atmospheres.
  • Aqueous corrosion: Similar to 310 stainless; suitable for organic acids, but NOT intended for strong reducing acids or chloride pitting/crevice corrosion.
  • Stress corrosion cracking: Immunity to chloride SCC due to high nickel.
Application note: For environments requiring both high‑temperature strength and resistance to wet chlorides, RAYCHIN also offers 254 SMO or 6% Mo fasteners. Alloy 330 remains the premier choice for dry, oxidizing, and carburizing atmospheres.

Expert Manufacturing – Alloy 330 Button Head Cap Screws

Precision Thread Rolling & Head Forming

Our Alloy 330 button head cap screws are produced using CNC multi‑spindle machines and thread rolling for improved grain flow. After forming, each lot is solution annealed in a controlled atmosphere furnace and water quenched to restore maximum ductility and high‑temperature properties. Dimensional inspection on optical comparators and automated vision systems ensures compliance with ASME/ISO standards.

Traceability & Certification

All screws are traceable from melt to finished product. We provide EN 10204 3.1 mill certificates, and third‑party inspections (DNV, Lloyds, TÜV, ABS) are available upon request. Nondestructive testing (PT, MT, UT) can be performed per customer specification. RAYCHIN is ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified.
