RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in 17-4 PH flat head screws — from 17-4 PH countersunk flat head screws, 17-4 PH 82° flat head screws, 17-4 PH 90° flat head screws, 17-4 PH slotted flat head screws, 17-4 PH Phillips flat head screws, 17-4 PH Torx flat head screws to custom non-standard flat head screw configurations. The flat head (countersunk) design allows for flush mounting in countersunk holes, providing a smooth surface finish. Our portfolio includes flat head screws manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for extreme environments: aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical devices, and marine industries where high temperature resistance, corrosion protection, and flush surfaces are critical. 17-4 PH flat head screws are available in all heat treatment conditions with precision rolled threads and full traceability.
17-4 PH 82° flat head screws for inch series countersunk holes. Manufactured to ANSI B18.6.3 and NAS specifications. The 82° head angle is standard for inch system applications in aerospace and defense. Available with slotted, Phillips, or Torx drives. Ideal for flush mounting requirements in aircraft structures, electronic enclosures, and military equipment. Sizes from #0 to 1" with full traceability.
17-4 PH 90° flat head screws for metric series countersunk holes. Manufactured to DIN 963, DIN 964, ISO 2009, and ISO 2010 specifications. The 90° head angle is standard for metric applications worldwide. Available with slotted, Phillips, or Torx drives. Ideal for flush mounting in automotive, electronics, and industrial equipment. Sizes from M2 to M24 with full traceability.
17-4 PH slotted flat head screws featuring a single slot drive for traditional screwdriver applications. Manufactured to ANSI B18.6.3, DIN 963 (metric 90°), and ISO 2009 specifications. The slotted drive provides simplicity and universal tool compatibility. Ideal for applications where Phillips or other drives are not required. Available in all standard sizes with full traceability.
17-4 PH Phillips flat head screws with cross-recessed drive for positive driver engagement and reduced cam-out compared to slotted drives. Manufactured to ANSI B18.6.3, DIN 964 (metric 90°), and ISO 2010 specifications. Available with Phillips #0 through #4 drive sizes. Ideal for automated assembly lines and applications requiring higher installation torque.
17-4 PH Torx flat head screws with hexalobular drive for maximum torque transmission and cam-out resistance. Manufactured to customer specifications with Torx drive sizes T6 through T60. The Torx drive provides superior torque transfer and extended tool life. Ideal for high-vibration applications and where tamper resistance is required. Security Torx variants with center pin available.
17-4 PH flat head screws manufactured to NAS, AN, and MS specifications including NAS 500 series, MS 24693, MS 24694, MS 51957, and AN 507. Available with UNJF-3A threads per MIL-S-8879 for enhanced fatigue life. Shot peened per aerospace requirements and available with silver or cadmium plating for anti-galling. Full traceability with material certification and third-party testing available.
The flat head design allows the screw to sit flush with or below the surface when installed in a countersunk hole, providing a smooth finish.
Critical for aerospace applications where flush surfaces reduce drag and improve aerodynamic performance. Widely used in aircraft skin panels.
Flush mounting eliminates protruding heads that could snag on clothing, moving parts, or other equipment. Ideal for consumer products and safety-critical applications.
Available in 82° (inch series) and 90° (metric series) to match standard countersink angles worldwide. Custom angles available for special applications.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH flat head screws to the following national and international standards, ensuring full compliance for projects worldwide. Both standard and non-standard custom configurations are available.
To serve clients worldwide, RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures 17-4 PH flat head screws from material conforming to the following national and international specifications. This ensures full compliance for projects in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
ASTM A564 GR.630 ASTM A193 GR.630 ASTM F593 GR.630 AMS 5643 1.4542 SUS630 UNS S17400 NACE MR0175 17-4PH
Our 17-4 PH flat head screws are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM A564 / AMS 5604. The precise addition of copper and niobium enables age-hardening to achieve high strength.
Expert note: The Nb/Cu ratio ensures consistent precipitation of coherent copper-rich clusters during aging. This yields tensile strengths up to 190 ksi (1310 MPa) in the H900 condition while retaining good ductility. 17-4 PH is up to 4x stronger than 316 stainless steel. All raw material is positively identified by PMI (Positive Material Identification) and certified with mill test reports.
17-4 PH flat head screws are available in eight standard heat treatment conditions. RAYCHIN LIMITED recommends the appropriate temper based on your strength vs. toughness requirements. The data below represent minimum values for the material (longitudinal direction) per ASTM A564 Table 3.
Additionally, 17-4 PH flat head screws exhibit excellent fracture toughness and very high fatigue strength. Our test certificates include actual values from each production lot. For sour service (NACE MR0175), H1150M or H1150D conditions are recommended for optimal sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance.
17-4 PH stainless steel maintains excellent mechanical properties up to 316°C (600°F), making it ideal for high-temperature applications in aerospace, power generation, and automotive systems.
17-4 PH maintains its mechanical strength up to 600°F (316°C), with good properties retained even at higher temperatures. For continuous service above 400°C, special heat treatments or alternative alloys should be considered. Avoid long-term exposure to temperatures between 370-480°C to prevent loss of toughness at ambient temperature.
17-4 PH stainless steel offers excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 304 stainless steel in many environments, attributed to its high chromium content (15-17.5%) which forms a protective Cr₂O₃ passive layer. The corrosion behavior is significantly influenced by heat treatment condition and aging parameters.
Corrosion Engineering Note: For critical applications in aggressive environments, RAYCHIN LIMITED can provide passivation, specialized coatings (Xylan, PTFE, silver plating), or recommend optimal heat treatment conditions (H1150, H1150M for maximum stress corrosion cracking resistance). Third-party corrosion testing per ASTM G31, G48, or G61 available upon request. NACE MR0175 compliant flat head screws available in H1150M and H1150D conditions.
For critical applications requiring flush mounting and reliable performance, RAYCHIN offers 17-4 PH flat head screws manufactured to NAS, MS, DIN, ISO, and customer-specific specifications. Our capabilities include:
