Full compliance with ASTM B160 (rod/bar), ASTM B564 (forgings), ASTM B162 (plate/sheet), and ASME SB-160/SB-564 for material and mechanical properties. Silver plating per AMS 2410 available for anti-galling.
Need special head configurations, proprietary drives (Torx, Robertson), non‑standard lengths, or unique thread forms? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom nickel 200 fasteners to your exact specifications – any condition (annealed, stress relieved), with full material traceability. Prototype to production volumes supported. Cleanroom wash and packaging available for sensitive applications in pharmaceutical and food processing industries.
Nickel 200 fasteners are extensively used in chemical processing plants due to their outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide) up to and including molten state. They resist corrosion in de-aerated acid environments and maintain product purity in handling foods, synthetic fibers, and alkalies. Applications include reactors, tanks, piping systems, heat exchangers, and evaporators handling caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid.
Nickel 200 fasteners resist ordinary seawater corrosion, making them ideal for onshore and offshore marine applications. Used in seawater desalination systems, marine fittings, and corrosion-resistant fasteners for vessels and offshore platforms. Excellent resistance to neutral and alkaline salt solutions ensures long-term reliability in marine environments.
Nickel 200 fasteners are used in aircraft components, rocket motor cases, and missile systems where high purity and corrosion resistance are essential. Non-magnetic properties and low outgassing make them suitable for sensitive instrumentation and vacuum tubes. Maintains ductility from cryogenic temperatures to 600°F, ensuring reliable performance across extreme thermal environments.
Nickel 200 fasteners in nuclear reactors, steam turbine controls, and power plant cooling systems provide reliable fastening in corrosive and high-temperature environments. Resists corrosion by liquid metal coolants and maintains mechanical properties up to 315°C (600°F). Used for turbine control linkages, sensor mounts, and heat exchanger bolting where corrosion resistance and product purity are critical.
Nickel 200 fasteners are used in food processing equipment and pharmaceutical machinery due to non-reactivity with organic materials and ability to maintain product purity. Excellent resistance to organic compounds and caustic cleaning solutions ensures long service life in hygienic applications. Used in equipment for food handling, dairy processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing where contamination must be avoided.
Nickel 200 fasteners are used in electronic components, battery manufacturing equipment, and magnetostrictive devices. High electrical conductivity (0.096 μΩ·m) and excellent fabricating characteristics make them ideal for sonar devices, ultrasonic welding controls, and rechargeable battery production. Used in computers, mobile phones, electric tools, and camcorders.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures nickel 200 fasteners from vacuum arc melted (VAR) material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our nickel 200 fasteners are produced from vacuum arc melted (VAR) material conforming to the following limits per ASTM B160 and industry standards.
Metallurgical note: Nickel 200 is a commercially pure, solid-solution wrought nickel alloy. It has a face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure that remains stable from cryogenic temperatures up to its melting point, providing excellent ductility and fabricability. The alloy exhibits ferromagnetic properties with a Curie temperature of approximately 360°C (680°F). Nickel 200 is suitable for applications up to 315°C (600°F); for higher temperatures, Nickel 201 (low carbon version) is recommended to avoid graphitization.
Nickel 200 fasteners are typically supplied in the annealed condition per ASTM B160. Data represent typical values based on industry standards.
Nickel 200 retains useful mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 315°C (600°F) and is suitable for continuous service in this range. The alloy maintains excellent ductility from cryogenic temperatures (-269°C) up to its maximum service temperature, with no ductile-to-brittle transition. At elevated temperatures, Nickel 200 exhibits good oxidation resistance and retains approximately 50% of its room temperature strength at 315°C. For applications above 315°C, Nickel 201 (low carbon version) is recommended to prevent graphitization and embrittlement.
Nickel 200 offers outstanding corrosion resistance across a wide range of aggressive environments, making it suitable for the most demanding applications in chemical processing, marine, and power generation industries.
All nickel 200 fasteners are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
We offer surface finishes: passivation (ASTM A967), silver plating (AMS 2410 for anti‑seize), PTFE coating, electropolish.
