RAYCHIN LIMITED is a leading manufacturer of MP35N Lock Nuts – precision self-locking fasteners engineered from cobalt-nickel-chromium-molybdenum multiphase superalloy, delivering the ultimate combination of ultra-high strength, exceptional corrosion resistance, and reliable locking performance in the most demanding applications. Lock nuts (also known as self-locking nuts) incorporate integral locking features that resist loosening under vibration, thermal cycling, and dynamic loads. Through precise cold working and age hardening, MP35N achieves ultimate tensile strength exceeding 300 ksi (2070 MPa) while maintaining excellent ductility and toughness. Our comprehensive range includes MP35N all-metal lock nuts (prevailing torque, distorted thread, 12-point), MP35N polymer insert lock nuts (nylon ring), MP35N slotted nuts and castle nuts (for cotter pin locking), MP35N floating barrel nuts (for misalignment applications), and custom configurations. Our portfolio includes all standard and custom configurations manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Whether you require MP35N lock nuts for aerospace critical joints, downhole drilling tools, or medical devices, RAYCHIN delivers precision, quality, and full traceability. All mechanical properties are presented in MPa and ksi (kilopound per square inch).
MP35N all-metal lock nuts achieve locking through controlled thread distortion (elliptical, slotted, or top-lock designs). Suitable for high-temperature service up to 600°F (315°C). Available in hex, heavy hex, and thin patterns. Conform to MS21042, MS21043, MS21045, MS21046, NAS3350, and DIN 980/985. NACE MR0175 compliant for sour service.
MP35N polymer insert lock nuts feature a non-metallic locking element (typically nylon) that provides prevailing torque by deforming threads. Reusable, ideal for vibration-resistant applications. Temperature rating limited to 250°F (120°C). Conform to DIN 985, ISO 7040, and MS21042. Cleanroom packaging available for medical applications.
MP35N 12-point lock nuts feature a double hexagon (12-point) head design for higher torque transmission and reduced risk of stripping. Available in all-metal prevailing torque configurations. Ideal for aerospace and defense applications where high strength and reliability are critical. Conform to IFI115, NAS, and MS standards.
MP35N slotted hex nuts and castle nuts feature slots that align with a drilled hole in the bolt for cotter pin insertion. Positive mechanical locking for critical assemblies such as landing gear and control linkages. Conform to AN310, AN320, MS17825, MS17826, and DIN 935.
MP35N floating barrel lock nuts feature a self-aligning barrel element that compensates for hole misalignment in aerospace structures. Incorporate all-metal prevailing torque locking. Compliant with NAS1802, NAS1351/1352, and specific MS standards including NSN 5310-01-524-8065. Used in critical airframe and engine applications.
Need a special locking element, non-standard thread, or proprietary marking? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom MP35N lock nuts to your exact specifications – any condition (annealed, cold worked, aged), with full material traceability. Prototype to production volumes supported.
MP35N lock nuts are extensively used in jet engine components, landing gear assemblies, flight control systems, missile and rocket structures, and airframe connections. Withstand operating temperatures up to 600°F (315°C) with exceptional vibration resistance. Self-locking feature prevents loosening under high-G maneuvers. All-metal designs suitable for engine hot zones. Floating barrel nuts compensate for hole misalignment in composite structures.
MP35N lock nuts qualified per NACE MR0175 for downhole drilling tools, Measurement-While-Drilling (MWD) equipment, wellhead components, subsea actuators, and completion equipment. Resist sulfide stress cracking (SSC) and pitting in H₂S/CO₂ environments at elevated pressures and temperatures. Non-magnetic properties essential for directional drilling instrumentation.
MP35N lock nuts used in orthopedic trauma implants, spinal fixation systems, surgical instruments, and prosthetic devices. Full biocompatibility per ASTM F562 and ISO 5832-6, excellent fatigue resistance for long-term cyclic loading, and non-magnetic properties for MRI compatibility. Polymer insert versions available for single-use surgical instruments.
MP35N lock nuts in seawater pump couplings, subsea connector assemblies, ROV systems, and offshore platform splash zone components resist pitting and crevice corrosion in saltwater. Virtually immune to seawater stress corrosion cracking and pitting even at the highest strength levels. Prevailing torque designs maintain locking integrity under constant wave-induced vibration.
MP35N lock nuts in gas turbines, steam turbines, and nuclear power systems provide reliable fastening of casings, flanges, and support structures. Maintain clamping force after thousands of thermal cycles from cryogenic to 600°F without relaxation. Self-locking feature prevents loosening under thermal expansion/contraction cycles.
MP35N lock nuts used in racing engines, transmission systems, suspension components, and brake calipers where maximum strength and vibration resistance are critical. All-metal lock nuts withstand high operating temperatures while maintaining prevailing torque. Ultra-high strength allows for weight reduction in competition vehicles.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures MP35N lock nuts from material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our MP35N lock nuts are produced from vacuum induction melted (VIM) and electroslag remelted (ESR) material conforming to the following limits per AMS, ASTM, and industry standards.
Metallurgical note: MP35N is a multiphase cobalt-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy strengthened through a unique combination of solid solution strengthening, cold work hardening, and age hardening via precipitation of Co₃Mo phase. The alloy maintains excellent ductility even at 50-70% cold reduction, enabling production of high-strength lock nuts with complex geometries and reliable locking elements. It remains essentially non-magnetic (permeability <1.005 μ) even after extensive cold working, critical for medical and directional drilling applications.
MP35N lock nuts are supplied in various conditions per AMS and ASTM specifications. Data represent typical values based on AMS, ASTM, and industry standards. ksi values (kilopound per square inch) are provided alongside MPa.
MP35N alloy retains useful mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 600°F (315°C), making MP35N lock nuts suitable for aerospace and oil & gas applications. The alloy can operate at cryogenic temperatures without embrittlement.
Note: For applications above 800°F (427°C), consider nickel-based superalloys like Inconel 718 or MP159. MP35N excels in applications requiring maximum strength at moderate temperatures with exceptional corrosion resistance.
MP35N alloy offers outstanding corrosion resistance across a wide range of aggressive environments, making it suitable for the most demanding applications including medical implants, downhole tools, and marine equipment.
All MP35N lock nuts are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
We offer surface finishes: passivation (ASTM A967), silver plating (AMS 2410 for anti‑seize), PTFE coating, electropolish. Full traceability and destructive/non‑destructive testing available (UT, MPI, PMI). ISO 13485 certified for medical applications with cleanroom packaging available.
