RAYCHIN LIMITED is a leading manufacturer of Titanium Threaded Rods – precision continuous thread bars and studding produced from high-strength titanium alloys, delivering exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and reliable performance in the most demanding aerospace, marine, medical, and chemical processing applications. Threaded rods are fully threaded along their entire length, providing maximum flexibility for cut-to-length applications and use as long fasteners in high-temperature assemblies. Titanium alloys offer a unique combination of high specific strength (approximately 45% lighter than steel with comparable strength), exceptional corrosion resistance in seawater and chemical environments, excellent biocompatibility, and complete non-magnetic properties. Our product line encompasses all major grades including Grade 5 titanium threaded rods (Ti-6Al-4V) for maximum strength, Grade 2 titanium threaded rods (commercially pure) for enhanced corrosion resistance, and Grade 7 titanium threaded rods (Ti-Pd) for extreme chemical resistance – all manufactured to the highest precision standards with precision rolled threads. Our portfolio includes all standard and custom configurations manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards, including ASTM F468 (fasteners), ASTM B348 (bars), AMS 4928, DIN 975, and ASME B18.31. Whether you require titanium threaded rods for aircraft assemblies, medical implants, marine equipment, or chemical processing, RAYCHIN delivers precision, quality, and full traceability. All mechanical properties are presented in MPa and ksi (kilopound per square inch).
Titanium threaded rods feature continuous precision rolled threads along the entire length, allowing for cut-to-length customization and maximum flexibility in high-temperature and corrosive environments. Available in standard lengths of 1m, 2m, 3m, and custom lengths up to 6m (20 ft). Diameters from M3 to M48 (#4 to 2") with metric coarse (M), metric fine, UNC, and UNF thread options. The continuous thread design ensures uniform strength and thread engagement throughout the rod.
Grade 5 titanium threaded rods are produced from Ti-6Al-4V alloy (UNS R56400), the most widely used titanium alloy offering the highest strength-to-weight ratio. With tensile strength ≥ 895 MPa (130 ksi) and density of 4.43 g/cm³, these rods are approximately 45% lighter than steel equivalents while providing superior strength. Meets ASTM F468, ASTM B348, and AMS 4928 standards. Ideal for aerospace, motorsports, and high-performance applications requiring maximum strength with minimum weight. Excellent fatigue resistance and high-temperature capability up to 400°C.
Grade 2 titanium threaded rods are produced from commercially pure titanium (UNS R50400), offering excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, chemical, and industrial environments. With tensile strength ≥ 345 MPa (50 ksi) and exceptional ductility, these rods are ideal for marine equipment, chemical processing, and general industrial applications where corrosion resistance is paramount. Meets ASTM F468 and ASTM B348 standards. Excellent weldability and formability. Superior corrosion resistance in seawater and chloride environments.
Grade 7 titanium threaded rods (Ti-0.15Pd, UNS R52400) offer enhanced corrosion resistance in reducing acids and are ideal for chemical processing equipment. Grade 12 titanium threaded rods (Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni, UNS R53400) provide excellent high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance for industrial applications up to 350°C. Both grades conform to ASTM F468 and ASTM B348 standards. Available on special order for demanding chemical and high-temperature environments.
Grade 23 ELI (Extra Low Interstitial) titanium threaded rods are produced from Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy (UNS R56401), offering the same strength as Grade 5 with enhanced ductility and fracture toughness. Specially processed for medical implant applications, these rods meet ASTM F136 standards for surgical implants. Biocompatible, non-toxic, and radio-opaque, making them ideal for orthopedic implants, surgical instruments, and medical devices. Available with cleanroom packaging and full traceability.
Need special thread forms, non‑standard lengths, or unique end configurations? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom titanium threaded rods to your exact specifications – any grade (Grade 5, Grade 2, Grade 7, Grade 12, Grade 23 ELI), any condition (annealed, stress-relieved), with full material traceability. Available with anodized finishes (blue, gold, purple, black), passivated, or electropolished for medical applications. Prototype to production volumes supported. Cleanroom wash and packaging available for medical and semiconductor applications.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures titanium threaded rods from vacuum arc remelted (VAR) or plasma arc melted material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill with complete certifications.
Our titanium threaded rods are produced from vacuum arc remelted (VAR) or plasma arc melted material conforming to the limits of applicable ASTM and AMS standards.
Metallurgical note: Titanium alloys are lightweight metals with density approximately 4.43-4.51 g/cm³ – about 45% lighter than steel while offering comparable or superior strength. Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) is an alpha-beta alloy strengthened through a combination of aluminum (alpha stabilizer) and vanadium (beta stabilizer), providing excellent strength, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance. Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium with exceptional corrosion resistance and formability, ideal for marine and chemical applications. Grade 7 contains palladium additions (0.12-0.25%) that significantly enhance corrosion resistance in reducing acids and crevice conditions. All titanium alloys exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance due to the formation of a stable, self-healing oxide layer (TiO₂) that provides protection in seawater, acids, and oxidizing environments. Titanium is completely non-magnetic and exhibits minimal gas discharge, making it ideal for semiconductor and medical imaging applications.
Titanium threaded rods are supplied in annealed condition per applicable ASTM specifications. Data represent typical values based on industry standards.
Maximum continuous service temperature: Grade 5 – 370°C (700°F); Grade 2 – 260°C (500°F). For long-term service above 300°C, protective coatings may be required to prevent oxidation and alpha-case formation.
Titanium alloys are renowned for their outstanding corrosion resistance, often outperforming stainless steel in aggressive environments. The material forms a stable, adherent, and self-healing oxide layer (TiO₂) that provides protection against a wide range of corrosive media. In salt spray testing (10% NaCl, 35°C), titanium exhibits corrosion rates less than 0.01 mm/year, compared to 0.1 mm/year for 304 stainless steel. Titanium is virtually immune to seawater corrosion up to 260°C (500°F) and can survive at ocean depths over a mile below the surface.
All titanium threaded rods are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
We offer surface finishes: plain (as-rolled), polished, cold drawn, anodized (blue, gold, purple, black), and passivated.
