What is Alloy 926 material? Alloy 926 (UNS N08926) is a super austenitic stainless steel containing approximately 6% molybdenum. It was developed to bridge the performance gap between standard austenitic grades like 316L and expensive nickel‑base alloys like Hastelloy C‑276. Often grouped under the "6Mo" designation along with AL6XN and 254SMO, 6Mo stainless steel fasteners such as Alloy 926 provide excellent resistance to chloride‑induced pitting (PREN typically 43–47) and are widely used in seawater, chemical, and pulp & paper applications.

Difference between Alloy 926 and AL6XN: Both are 6Mo super austenitic stainless steels with nearly identical corrosion resistance. AL6XN (UNS N08367) is more common in US‑based projects, while Alloy 926 / 1.4529 is widely specified in European designs.
