Flat Head Screws

Flat head screw is a screw with a flat top and bottom that tapers inward, allowing the head to sit flush with or below the surface it's screwed into. This design makes flat head screws ideal for applications where a strong fastener is needed and the surface should remain smooth and snag-free.
Flat head screws are also known as countersunk screws because they're designed to fit into a mating countersink profile on the joint.

Countersink Angle

For most flat head screw designs the angle of countersink is usually 82° for UNC and UNF applications however other angles ranging from 60° -120° could be specified.
