RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in 310 stainless steel vented screws — from 310 SS center vented screws, 310 SS vacuum vented screws, 310 SS socket head vented screws, 310 SS hex head vented screws to custom non-standard vented screw configurations. Grade 310 (UNS S31000) is a high-carbon austenitic stainless steel with 25% chromium and 20% nickel, developed specifically for high-temperature service up to 1150°C (2100°F). It offers exceptional oxidation resistance and creep strength, making it ideal for furnace equipment, heat treatment fixtures, power generation, and chemical processing applications. Our portfolio includes vented screws manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for high vacuum (HV) and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, aerospace systems, and high-temperature applications where virtual leaks must be eliminated and pressure equalization is critical. 310 stainless steel vented screws feature precision-drilled center bores through the head and threaded shank, ensuring complete evacuation of trapped gases and faster pump-down times. Available in solution annealed condition with full traceability.
310 stainless steel center vented socket head cap screws featuring a precision-drilled axial bore from the head through the threaded shank. Manufactured to DIN 912 / ISO 4762 with venting modification. Ideal for high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum applications requiring both high-temperature resistance and trapped gas evacuation. Available in sizes from #2 to 1" (M2 to M24) with custom vent diameters. The 25% chromium content ensures exceptional oxidation resistance up to 1150°C while eliminating virtual leaks and enabling faster pump-down times.
310 stainless steel center vented hex head cap screws with precision axial vent hole. Manufactured to DIN 931 / DIN 933 and ISO 4014 / ISO 4017 with venting modification. Designed for high-pressure and high-temperature vacuum applications requiring external wrenching. The center bore provides an outlet for trapped air and gas contaminants to be pumped away from blind holes, bottoms, sides, and shoulders. Ideal for furnace systems, petrochemical processing, and high-temperature research chambers requiring both oxidation resistance and vacuum compatibility.
Complementary 310 stainless steel vented washers featuring two bored canals on opposite sides of the flat face. These washers provide an escape route for gases trapped beneath the screw head or between mating surfaces. When used with 310 SS vented screws, they ensure complete venting of all cavities in high-temperature vacuum systems. The volume of gas can be trapped in the space and beneath the fastener head along the screw shaft; our vented washers eliminate this issue. Available in all standard washer sizes with custom vent configurations. The austenitic composition provides the same exceptional oxidation resistance as the mating screws.
310 stainless steel vented screws designed for high-temperature furnace applications where both gas evacuation and oxidation resistance are critical. Used in thermal processing equipment, high-temperature furnaces, and heat treatment fixtures. The venting feature provides an outlet for the complete evacuation of trapped air and gas contaminants from blind-tapped screw holes, bottoms, sides and shoulders. Excellent resistance to oxidation under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000°F. Good resistance to sulfidation and other forms of hot corrosion.
310 stainless steel vented screws for semiconductor wafer processing equipment, particle accelerators, and research chambers operating at elevated temperatures. Available with UNJF-3A threads per MIL-S-8879 and custom vent diameters. Full traceability with material certification and third-party testing available. Enables faster, more efficient pump-down of HV & UHV systems. Eliminates virtual leaks and relieves pressure from blocked gases. Provides means to vent contaminants found in screw voids, promoting higher system throughput and improved yield.

UNS S31000 UNS S31008 1.4845 X8CrNi25-21 SUS310 ASTM A479 AMS 5521
Our 310 stainless steel vented screws are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM A479 / UNS S31000. The high chromium (25%) and nickel (20%) content provide exceptional oxidation resistance and high-temperature strength. The high carbon content ensures excellent creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
Expert note: The high chromium content (25%) forms a protective Cr₂O₃ layer that provides exceptional oxidation resistance up to 1150°C (2100°F). The high nickel content (20%) stabilizes the austenitic structure and provides excellent resistance to carburization and thermal fatigue. For improved weldability and resistance to sensitization, 310S (UNS S31008) with lower carbon (0.08% max) is available. 310H (UNS S31009) with controlled carbon range (0.04-0.10%) is available for applications requiring optimum creep strength.
310 stainless steel vented screws are supplied in the solution annealed condition (1040°C minimum followed by water quenching). The data below represent minimum values per ASTM A479 and EN 10088-3.
Grade 310 is specifically designed for high-temperature service. Its high chromium and nickel content provide exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling, while maintaining good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. 310 stainless steel vented screws are widely used in furnace applications, heat treatment equipment, and power generation components requiring vacuum capability.
The excellent oxidation resistance is due to the formation of a tight, adherent Cr₂O₃ scale that protects the underlying metal. 310 also offers good resistance to sulfidation and other forms of hot corrosion, outperforming lower alloy grades. It can be used in moderately carburizing, moderately oxidizing, nitriding, cementing and thermal cycling applications when not used at the maximum service temperature.
The table below shows typical mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. Note that strength decreases with increasing temperature, but 310 maintains useful strength up to its maximum service temperature.
For applications requiring long-term stress at elevated temperatures, creep and rupture strength are critical considerations. 310 stainless steel offers excellent creep resistance due to its high carbon content and fully austenitic structure. Typical 10,000-hour rupture strength values:
While 310 is primarily selected for high-temperature applications, it also offers excellent corrosion resistance in many environments due to its high chromium and nickel content.
The high chromium content (25%) provides exceptional resistance to oxidation and scaling. 310 stainless steel vented screws can be used in air up to 1150°C (2100°F) continuously without significant scaling. In intermittent service, the maximum temperature is 1040°C (1900°F). The material maintains excellent oxidation resistance under mildly cyclic conditions through 2000°F.
High-Temperature & Vacuum Engineering Note: For critical applications in high-temperature vacuum environments, RAYCHIN LIMITED can provide specialized surface treatments, electropolishing for reduced outgassing, passivation, or recommend optimal heat treatment conditions. Third-party testing per ASTM standards available upon request. When specifying 310 stainless steel vented screws, consider the maximum service temperature, atmosphere composition, and mechanical load requirements.
