RAYCHIN LIMITED is a recognized expert in Alloy 330 shoulder bolts — from Alloy 330 precision shoulder bolts, Alloy 330 stripper bolts, Alloy 330 socket shoulder bolts to custom non-standard configurations. Alloy 330 (UNS N08330) is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium superalloy with silicon addition, specifically designed for high-temperature service up to 1150°C (2100°F). Shoulder bolts, also known as stripper bolts, are unique fasteners with three distinct parts: head, shoulder, and thread. The shoulder is a precision-ground, unthreaded cylindrical surface that acts as a shaft, dowel, or pivot point for rotating parts, axles for rolling elements, and guides for sliding components. The alloy's high nickel content (34-37%) provides excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking and maintains a stable austenitic structure at all temperatures. Silicon addition (0.75-1.5%) enhances oxidation and carburization resistance at elevated temperatures. Our portfolio includes shoulder bolts manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards. Engineered for extreme environments where precision motion and high-temperature strength are critical. Alloy 330 shoulder bolts are supplied in solution annealed condition with full traceability and third-party certifications.
Alloy 330 shoulder bolts are precision fasteners with three distinct sections:
Alloy 330 precision shoulder bolts manufactured to ASME B18.3 (inch) and DIN 7991 (metric) standards. Features a hex socket drive, precision-ground shoulder, and threaded end. Available in various shoulder diameters and lengths to suit specific applications. Ideal for high-temperature applications up to 1150°C where precision alignment and smooth motion are required. Shoulder tolerances held to ±0.025mm for precise fit. Available in sizes from 1/4" to 1" shoulder diameter (metric M6 to M24). Supplied in solution annealed condition per ASTM B511.
Alloy 330 stripper bolts designed specifically for die set and fixture applications. Features a longer shoulder length for guiding stripper plates and moving components. The smooth shoulder provides precise guidance while the threaded end secures the assembly. Excellent for high-temperature forming, stamping, and heat treating fixtures where moving parts must operate reliably at elevated temperatures. Available with various shoulder length-to-diameter ratios. Precision ground surface ensures smooth operation and long service life in demanding thermal environments.
Alloy 330 socket shoulder bolts featuring deep hex socket drives for positive engagement and high torque capability. The hex socket allows for secure installation and removal even after repeated thermal cycling. Available in standard and heavy head configurations. Ideal for applications requiring frequent disassembly or where space constraints limit tool access. Precision rolled threads for superior strength and high-temperature performance. Sizes from 1/4" to 1" shoulder diameter.
Alloy 330 shoulder bolts certified to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service applications in oil and gas industry. Suitable for wellhead equipment, valve assemblies, and subsea connections requiring precision shoulder bolts in high-temperature, H₂S environments. Available with full traceability and material certifications per ASTM B511. 100% NDT available including PMI, UT, and MPI.
Need a special shoulder diameter, unusual length, or custom drive configuration for your high-temperature application? RAYCHIN engineers work with you to produce custom Alloy 330 shoulder bolts to your drawing. Options include extra-long shoulders, multiple shoulder diameters, and special drive configurations. Expert heat treatment (solution annealed at 1038-1121°C) ensures optimum high-temperature performance. Manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN, KS standards.
Alloy 330 maintains useful mechanical properties up to 1150°C (2100°F). At 800°C, tensile strength remains at 150-200 MPa, significantly higher than standard stainless steels. Excellent creep strength at 980°C with 15-20 MPa for 1000 hours.
Shoulder surfaces are precision-ground to tight tolerances (±0.025mm) for accurate fit and smooth operation. The shoulder acts as a shaft or axle for rotating parts, ensuring reliable performance in high-temperature mechanisms.
Silicon addition (0.75-1.5%) enhances resistance to carburizing and oxidizing atmospheres up to 1150°C. Chromium forms a protective Cr₂O₃ scale, while silicon contributes to a complex silicate layer that provides exceptional protection in aggressive furnace environments.
Stable austenitic structure at all temperatures provides excellent resistance to thermal shock and thermal fatigue. Low thermal expansion coefficient (14.4-18.0 x 10⁻⁶/°C) matches many ceramics and reduces stress during thermal cycling.
With 34-37% nickel content, Alloy 330 offers practical immunity to chloride stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for applications where both high temperature and chlorides are present.
Remains fully austenitic at all temperatures without sigma phase embrittlement. Magnetic permeability ≤ 1.02, suitable for non-magnetic applications.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures Alloy 330 shoulder bolts to the following national and international standards, ensuring full compliance for projects worldwide. Both standard and non-standard custom configurations are available.

UNS N08330 1.4886 ASTM B511 ASME SB511 AMS 5716 RA330 Incoloy 330 NS3303
Our Alloy 330 shoulder bolts are produced from melts that strictly conform to the limits below per ASTM B511 / AMS 5716. The high nickel content provides immunity to chloride stress corrosion cracking and ensures austenitic stability. Chromium provides oxidation resistance, while silicon addition enhances carburization resistance at elevated temperatures.
Expert note: The high nickel content (34-37%) ensures a stable austenitic structure at all temperatures, eliminating sigma phase embrittlement concerns. Silicon addition (0.75-1.5%) is critical for enhanced carburization resistance in furnace environments. Low carbon content (<0.08%) prevents sensitization and maintains corrosion resistance.
Alloy 330 shoulder bolts are supplied in the solution annealed condition (1038-1121°C followed by rapid cooling). The data below represent minimum requirements per ASTM B511 / AMS 5716 unless otherwise noted.
Alloy 330 maintains useful mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to approximately 1150°C (2100°F), making it ideal for furnace components and high-temperature processing equipment.
While Alloy 330 is primarily selected for high-temperature strength, it also offers good corrosion resistance in many environments due to its high nickel and chromium content.
Alloy 330 shoulder bolts offer excellent resistance to oxidation up to 1150°C (2100°F) in air and combustion atmospheres. The chromium forms a protective Cr₂O₃ scale, while silicon contributes to a complex silicate layer that provides exceptional protection in aggressive environments.
The silicon addition (0.75-1.5%) provides outstanding resistance to carburization and nitriding at elevated temperatures. Alloy 330 shoulder bolts are widely used in furnace components and heat treating fixtures where carbonaceous atmospheres are present.
