Our product line encompasses all major stud types including Nimonic double-end studs, Nimonic tap-end studs, Nimonic fully threaded studs, and Nimonic weld studs – all manufactured to the highest precision standards. Nimonic alloys (Nimonic 90, Nimonic 80A, Nimonic 75) are precipitation-hardenable nickel-based superalloys with high chromium and cobalt contents and additions of titanium and aluminum, providing outstanding mechanical properties up to 950°C (1740°F). These alloys exhibit high stress-rupture strength, excellent creep resistance, and good oxidation resistance in high-temperature environments. Our portfolio includes all standard and custom configurations manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards, including AMS 5829, BS HR2, BS HR5, ASTM B637, and DIN EN10269. Whether you require Nimonic studs for gas turbine engines, missile systems, or high-temperature processing equipment, RAYCHIN delivers precision, quality, and full traceability. All mechanical properties are presented in MPa and ksi (kilopound per square inch).
Nimonic double-end studs feature threads on both ends with an unthreaded center section. Available in standard configurations including tap-end studs (shorter thread engagement for permanent installation) and flange-end studs (equal thread lengths for nut-and-nut applications). Manufactured to ASME B16.5, API 6A, and custom specifications. Diameters from M6 to M48 (1/4" to 2"). Essential for high-pressure flange connections in power generation and petrochemical processing where operating temperatures reach up to 800°C.
Nimonic tap-end studs are designed for permanent installation in tapped holes, with one end having a shorter thread engagement for the tapped component and the other end for nut installation. Ideal for gas turbine casing flanges, pressure vessels, and valve assemblies where reliable clamping force must be maintained under extreme thermal cycling. Available with precision rolled threads for superior fatigue life in high-temperature cyclic applications.
Nimonic fully threaded studs (continuous thread studs) are threaded along the entire length, providing maximum flexibility for cut-to-length applications. Available in standard lengths of 1m, 2m, 3m, and custom lengths up to 6m. Precision rolled threads for uniform strength and thread engagement. Used in heat exchanger assemblies, furnace components, and custom fixturing applications requiring high-temperature strength up to 920°C.
Nimonic weld studs are designed for arc welding or resistance welding to metal surfaces, providing permanent attachment points in high-temperature assemblies. Available in various configurations including threaded, unthreaded, and internally threaded types. Used in furnace linings, heat shield attachments, and turbine casing insulation retention systems. Custom designs available for specialized welding requirements.
Our Nimonic studs meet applicable sections of NAS564 (threaded rod), NAS565, NAS566, MS16998, MS9074, and AN standard equivalents. Full compliance with AMS 5829, BS HR2, BS HR5, and ASTM B637 for material and mechanical properties. Nimonic 90 studs are qualified for aerospace applications requiring high stress-rupture strength up to 920°C. Silver plating per AMS 2410 available for anti-galling and enhanced conductivity.
Need special thread forms, reduced shank designs, non‑standard lengths, or unique end configurations? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom Nimonic studs to your exact specifications – any condition (solution treated, stabilized, precipitation hardened), with full material traceability. Prototype to production volumes supported. Cleanroom wash and packaging available for sensitive applications.
Nimonic studs are extensively used in gas turbine engine components including turbine casings, combustors, afterburner components, compressor assemblies, and missile systems. Nimonic 90 offers high stress-rupture strength and creep resistance up to 920°C, making it ideal for hot section fastening applications such as turbine casing flange studs, diffuser case studs, and bearing housing supports. Used in engine rotor discs, blade lock plates, and other critical hardware requiring sustained mechanical integrity at elevated temperatures.
Nimonic studs in land-based gas turbines, steam turbine components, and power plant assemblies provide reliable fastening in high-temperature environments. Nimonic 80A is specified for gas turbine bolts and studs where fastener operating temperatures can reach 800°C. Used in turbine casing flange connections, valve assemblies, and heat exchanger flange studs. Excellent creep resistance under sustained loading ensures long-term reliability in critical bolting applications.
Nimonic studs qualified for downhole tooling components, wellhead equipment, and high-pressure valve systems in refineries and petrochemical plants. Nimonic 90 meets NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-3 requirements for sour service. Hot Gas Expander components operating up to 760°C from Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) units utilize Nimonic studs for flange connections and seal retention. Resists sulfidation and hot corrosion in sulfur-containing environments.
Nimonic studs in high-temperature furnace components, heat treating equipment, chemical processing systems, and thermal reactor assemblies. Withstands combustion environments due to excellent resistance to relaxation at elevated temperatures, combined with appreciable oxidation resistance. Used in industrial furnace structural parts, heat treatment fixtures, and hot gas expander equipment. Nimonic 75 is readily fabricated and welded, making it suitable for sheet metal fabrications requiring oxidation resistance together with medium strength.
Nimonic studs in naval propulsion systems, marine gas turbines, and nuclear engineering applications. Excellent performance in salt spray environments and resistance to high-temperature corrosion. Nimonic 80A is specified for tube support parts of nuclear boilers and steam generators due to its combination of strength and corrosion resistance. Nimonic 75 is used in nuclear engineering for components requiring good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Nimonic studs in high-performance turbochargers, exhaust systems, and racing engine components for extreme-duty applications. Nimonic 80A is widely used in the automotive industry for exhaust valve studs, turbine housing attachments, and other components exposed to severe thermal cycling. The alloy's ability to maintain strength at elevated temperatures makes it ideal for securing turbocharger housings and exhaust manifold flanges in racing applications.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures Nimonic studs from vacuum induction melted (VIM) and vacuum arc remelted (VAR) material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our Nimonic studs are produced from vacuum induction melted (VIM) and vacuum arc remelted (VAR) material conforming to the limits of applicable AMS, BS, and ASTM standards.
Metallurgical note: Nimonic alloys are precipitation-hardening nickel-based superalloys strengthened through the formation of gamma prime (γ') phase Ni₃(Al, Ti) in a disordered FCC matrix. Nimonic 90 contains cobalt additions for enhanced solid solution strengthening and creep resistance at elevated temperatures up to 920°C. Nimonic 80A is strengthened with aluminum and titanium additions and offers good creep and oxidation resistance up to 800°C, with wide application in gas turbine bolts and studs. Nimonic 75 is a solid-solution strengthened alloy with good oxidation resistance and fabricability, used for sheet metal fabrications requiring medium strength at high operating temperatures. The alloys are produced by vacuum induction melting (VIM) and vacuum arc remelting (VAR) or electroslag remelting (ESR) to ensure high purity and consistent properties.
Nimonic studs are supplied in fully heat-treated condition per applicable AMS, BS, and ASTM specifications. Data represent typical values based on industry standards.
