3. Monel 400 vs Monel K500: Which Grade for Which Application?

Selecting between the two Monel grades depends on the mechanical load and temperature of the application.

  • Monel 400 is solid‑solution strengthened. It provides excellent corrosion resistance with moderate strength (min 240 MPa yield). Ideal for non‑structural bolting, chemical plant piping, seawater strainers, and instrumentation.
