Precision rolled threads for superior fatigue life. Ideal for custom fastening solutions in high-temperature, corrosive environments.
MP159 fasteners are extensively used in jet engine components, landing gear systems, missile and rocket components, and aircraft structural assemblies. Withstand operating temperatures up to 650°C (1200°F) with exceptional creep resistance and fatigue strength. MP159 is the preferred material for critical aerospace fasteners requiring both ultra-high strength and corrosion resistance.
MP159 fasteners qualified per NACE MR0175 for downhole drilling tools, Measurement-While-Drilling (MWD) equipment, wellhead components, and subsea actuators. Resist sulfide stress cracking (SSC) and pitting in H₂S/CO₂ environments at elevated pressures and temperatures. Non-magnetic properties essential for directional drilling instrumentation.
MP159 fasteners used in surgical instruments, medical implants, and diagnostic equipment. Biocompatible, non-magnetic, and resistant to body fluids. High fatigue strength ensures long-term reliability in load-bearing orthopedic applications.
MP159 fasteners in gas turbines, steam turbines, and nuclear power systems provide reliable fastening of casings, flanges, and support structures. Maintain clamping force after thousands of thermal cycles from cryogenic to 650°C without relaxation.
MP159 fasteners in seawater pump couplings, propeller shaft locking devices, and subsea control modules resist pitting and crevice corrosion in saltwater. Non-magnetic properties ideal for underwater navigation systems.
MP159 fasteners used in motorsports and aerospace-derived automotive systems where maximum strength and minimum weight are critical. Racing engine components, transmission systems, and suspension linkages benefit from MP159's ultra-high strength and fatigue resistance.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures MP159 fasteners from material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our MP159 fasteners are produced from melts conforming to the following limits per AMS and industry standards.
Metallurgical note: MP159 is a multiphase cobalt-nickel-chromium alloy strengthened through a combination of cold work and age hardening. The alloy develops its ultra-high strength through cold deformation (typically 48% reduction) which induces a strain-induced martensitic transformation (γ → ε), followed by aging at 650-675°C to precipitate fine Ni₃(Al, Ti) L1₂ particles. This unique strengthening mechanism enables tensile strengths exceeding 1830 MPa (265 ksi) while maintaining good ductility and toughness. The alloy remains non-magnetic (permeability <1.00265) even after cold working.
MP159 fasteners are supplied in various conditions per AMS specifications. Data represent typical values based on AMS, ASTM, and industry standards. ksi values (kilopound per square inch) are provided alongside MPa.
MP159 superalloy retains significant strength at elevated temperatures, making MP159 fasteners ideal for gas turbine hot section components and other high-temperature applications. The alloy was specifically developed to perform under higher operating temperatures required for turbine engines.
Recent research demonstrates that MP159 exhibits extraordinary strength-ductility synergy over a wide strain rate range (10⁻⁴/s – 10³/s). When strain rate increases from quasi-static to dynamic (1500/s), yield strength increases from ~850 MPa to ~1155 MPa while elongation remains around 30%, enabled by nanotwin and stacking fault deformation mechanisms. This makes MP159 ideal for high-speed dynamic loading conditions in aerospace applications.
MP159 alloy offers outstanding corrosion resistance comparable to MP35N®, making it suitable for the most aggressive environments.
All MP159 fasteners are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
We offer surface finishes: passivation (ASTM A967), silver plating (AMS 2410 for anti‑seize), PTFE coating, electropolish. Full traceability and destructive/non‑destructive testing available (UT, MPI, PMI).
