RAYCHIN LIMITED is a leading manufacturer of Nickel 200 Studs – precision threaded fasteners produced from commercially pure nickel, delivering exceptional corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and reliable performance in the most demanding industrial environments. Nickel 200 (UNS N02200) is a wrought, solid-solution alloy containing a minimum of 99.2% nickel, offering excellent mechanical properties, magnetic properties, and resistance to a wide range of corrosive media. Studs are headless fasteners threaded on one end (tap-end) or both ends, designed for permanent installation in flanges, pressure vessels, and high-integrity clamped joints. Our comprehensive product line includes nickel 200 double-end studs, nickel 200 tap-end studs, and nickel 200 fully threaded studs – all manufactured to the highest precision standards. Our portfolio includes all standard and custom configurations manufactured to NAS, AN, MS, ANSI, ASTM, ASME, SAE, API, NACE, ISO, DIN and KS standards, including ASTM B160, ASME SB160, ISO 898-1, and DIN 835. Whether you require nickel 200 studs for chemical processing equipment, marine applications, aerospace components, or food handling systems, RAYCHIN delivers precision, quality, and full traceability. All mechanical properties are presented in MPa and ksi (kilopound per square inch).
Nickel 200 double-end studs feature threads on both ends with an unthreaded center section. Typically used in flange connections: the tap-end (shorter thread) is installed permanently into a blind tapped hole, while the nut-end (longer thread) receives a nut for clamping. Precision machined to ASME B16.5 and API 6A flange standards. Available in all diameters from M3 to M56 (#2 to 2"). Ideal for chemical reactor flanges, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels where corrosion resistance is critical.
Nickel 200 fully threaded studs (continuous thread studs) are threaded along the entire length. Ideal for through-hole applications, adjustable connections, and custom-length installations. Rolled threads for superior fatigue life. Lengths up to 3000mm or 120". Supplied with two nuts per ASTM A194 or equivalent. Used extensively in high-temperature and corrosive environments where complete thread engagement is required.
Nickel 200 tap-end studs have one end threaded with a tap fit (class 5H interference) for permanent installation into tapped holes, and the other end with a class 2A/3A thread for nut engagement. Used extensively in high-pressure fluid end blocks and downhole tools where a permanent installation is required with a removable nut side. Custom thread lengths and interference fits available for specific applications.
Our nickel 200 studs meet applicable sections of NAS1802 (studs), NASM 8830, and MS16995 for geometry. Full compliance with ASTM B160 (rod/bar), ASME SB160, ASTM B564 (forgings), and AMS 4675 for material and mechanical properties. Silver plating per AMS 2410 available for anti-galling. Cleanroom packaging available for semiconductor and aerospace applications.
Nickel 200 studs available with Unified Coarse (UNC), Unified Fine (UNF), UNJF-3A (aerospace), and metric coarse/fine threads. Thread classes 2A, 3A, 6g. Precision rolled threads for superior fatigue life. Standard thread lengths per ASME B18.31.2 and ISO 898-1. Custom thread lengths and combinations available upon request. Available in diameters from M3 to M56 (#2 to 2").
Need a special thread combination, extra-long length, proprietary thread form, or reduced shank? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom nickel 200 studs to your exact specifications – any condition (annealed, cold worked), with full material traceability. Prototype to production volumes supported. Cleanroom wash and packaging available for sensitive applications in pharmaceutical and food processing industries.
Nickel 200 studs are extensively used in chemical processing plants due to their outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis (sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide) up to and including molten state. They resist corrosion in de-aerated acid environments and maintain product purity in handling foods, synthetic fibers, and alkalies. Applications include reactor flanges, tanks, piping systems, heat exchangers, and evaporators handling caustic soda and hydrofluoric acid.
Nickel 200 studs resist ordinary seawater corrosion, making them ideal for onshore and offshore marine applications. Used in seawater desalination systems, marine fittings, and corrosion-resistant fasteners for vessels and offshore platforms. Excellent resistance to neutral and alkaline salt solutions ensures long-term reliability in marine environments. Double-end studs provide secure flange connections in seawater piping systems.
Nickel 200 studs are used in aircraft components, rocket motor cases, and missile systems where high purity and corrosion resistance are essential. Non-magnetic properties and low outgassing make them suitable for sensitive instrumentation and vacuum tubes. Maintains ductility from cryogenic temperatures to 315°C, ensuring reliable performance across extreme thermal environments.
Nickel 200 studs in nuclear reactors, steam turbine controls, and power plant cooling systems provide reliable fastening in corrosive and high-temperature environments. Resists corrosion by liquid metal coolants and maintains mechanical properties up to 315°C. Used for turbine control linkages, sensor mounts, and heat exchanger bolting where corrosion resistance and product purity are critical.
Nickel 200 studs are used in food processing equipment and pharmaceutical machinery due to non-reactivity with organic materials and ability to maintain product purity. Excellent resistance to organic compounds and caustic cleaning solutions ensures long service life in hygienic applications. Used in equipment for food handling, dairy processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing where contamination must be avoided.
Nickel 200 studs are used in electronic components, battery manufacturing equipment, and magnetostrictive devices. High electrical conductivity and excellent fabricating characteristics make them ideal for sonar devices, ultrasonic welding controls, and rechargeable battery production. Tap-end studs provide permanent installation in sensitive electronic assemblies.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures nickel 200 studs from vacuum arc melted (VAR) material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our nickel 200 studs are produced from vacuum arc melted (VAR) material conforming to the following limits per ASTM B160 and industry standards.
Metallurgical note: Nickel 200 is a commercially pure, solid-solution wrought nickel alloy. It has a face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure that remains stable from cryogenic temperatures up to its melting point, providing excellent ductility and fabricability. The alloy exhibits ferromagnetic properties with a Curie temperature of approximately 360°C (680°F). Nickel 200 is suitable for continuous service up to 315°C (600°F); for applications above this temperature, Nickel 201 (low carbon version) is recommended to avoid graphitization and embrittlement.
Nickel 200 studs are supplied in various conditions (annealed, cold worked) per ASTM B160. Data represent typical values based on industry standards.
Nickel 200 retains useful mechanical properties at elevated temperatures up to 315°C (600°F) and is suitable for continuous service in this range. The alloy maintains excellent ductility from cryogenic temperatures (-269°C) up to its maximum service temperature, with no ductile-to-brittle transition. At elevated temperatures, Nickel 200 exhibits good oxidation resistance and retains approximately 50% of its room temperature strength at 315°C. For applications above 315°C, Nickel 201 (low carbon version) is recommended to prevent graphitization and embrittlement.
Nickel 200 offers outstanding corrosion resistance across a wide range of aggressive environments, making it suitable for the most demanding applications in chemical processing, marine, and power generation industries.
All nickel 200 studs are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
