Waspaloy 12 point screws feature a unique drive head that combines two overlapped hexagon shapes, creating twelve contact points. This design provides significantly higher torque capability compared to traditional hex or socket head screws, reducing the risk of cam-out and rounding. The 12-point drive enables greater preload and clamping force in critical bolted joints where extreme temperatures and vibration are present. The integrated flange under the head distributes load evenly, eliminating the need for separate washers.
Waspaloy 12 point screws feature a head profile that is generally smaller than equivalent hex head screws, providing significant weight savings and enabling installation in confined spaces. This compact design is critical for aerospace applications where space and weight are at a premium. The 12 points of contact allow the head to withstand more torque than a traditional hex bolt or socket cap screws, making them ideal for high-performance gas turbine engines.
