Heavy Hex & Finished Hex

MP35N heavy hex cap screws feature a larger hex head for higher wrenching torque, ideal for pressure vessels and flanged connections. MP35N finished hex cap screws (regular hex) are used in general assembly. Available in sizes #4 to 2½" (M3 to M64) with UNC, UNF, UNJF-3A (aerospace), and metric coarse threads. Full thread or partial thread options. Head markings optional per customer specification. Conform to ASME B18.2.1, DIN 931/933, ISO 4014/4017.

Thread Configurations

MP35N hex cap screws supplied in full thread (tap-end) and partial thread (body diameter) styles. Thread classes 2A, 3A, 6g. Lengths from 1/2" to 20" (12mm to 1000mm). Precision rolled threads for superior fatigue life and consistent fit. Custom thread lengths and diameters available upon request.

Metallurgical note: MP35N is a multiphase cobalt-nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy strengthened through a unique combination of solid solution strengthening, cold work hardening (typically 40-60% reduction), and age hardening via precipitation of Co₃Mo phase. The alloy maintains excellent ductility even at high cold reduction levels, enabling production of high-strength hex cap screws with complex head geometries. It remains essentially non-magnetic (permeability <1.005 μ) even after extensive cold working, critical for medical and directional drilling applications. High-temperature (1350-1500°F) heat treatments improve hydrogen embrittlement resistance while maintaining high strength.
