Oxidation & carburization: Exceptional resistance in air, combustion gases, and sulfur‑bearing atmospheres up to 1150°C.
Nitriding: Good resistance to nitrogen‑rich atmospheres (cracked ammonia).
Stress corrosion cracking: High nickel (34‑37%) provides immunity to chloride SCC.
Aqueous corrosion: Similar to 310 stainless; suitable for organic acids, but NOT for strong reducing acids or chloride pitting.
Sigma phase resistance: Fully austenitic, resists embrittlement at all temperatures.

Corrosion Engineering Note: Alloy 330 is optimized for dry, oxidizing, carburizing, and nitriding atmospheres. For seawater or strong chlorides, we recommend 254 SMO.
