Waspaloy socket head bolts feature precision hexagon socket drives per ASME B18.3 (inch series) and ISO 4762 / DIN 912 (metric series). The internal hex drive allows for high tightening torques and secure installation in confined spaces. Available in diameters from M1.6 to M48 (#0 to 2"). Widely used in gas turbine engine components, compressor and rotor discs, shafts, and seals where access is limited.
Waspaloy eye bolts are designed for lifting and attachment points in high-temperature environments. Manufactured to ASME B18.15 and DIN 580 standards with precision-forged eyes for secure rigging. Available in regular and shoulder patterns with load ratings certified for elevated temperatures. Used in gas turbine casing lifting, furnace component handling, and missile system attachment points.
Waspaloy T-head bolts (hammer head bolts) feature a tee-shaped head designed for use in T-slots of machine tables and fixtures. Manufactured to DIN 186 / DIN 188 and ASME B18.5 standards. Available with square neck or ribbed neck for positive location. Ideal for high-temperature fixturing, turbine blade mounting, and test rig applications requiring precise positioning and frequent adjustment.
Waspaloy bihexagonal head bolts feature a 12-point drive configuration providing superior wrenching capability in confined spaces. Manufactured to BS EN 3239 and EN 4120 specifications for aerospace applications. Classification: 1210 MPa at ambient temperature / 730°C. Available with silver-plated threads for corrosion resistance and anti-seize properties. Used in critical aircraft engine assemblies, turbine casing flanges, and structural attachments.
Need special head configurations, proprietary drives, non‑standard lengths, or unique thread forms? RAYCHIN engineers design and produce custom Waspaloy bolts to your exact specifications – any condition (solution treated, stabilized, precipitation hardened), with full material traceability. Prototype to production volumes supported. Cleanroom wash and packaging available for sensitive applications.
Waspaloy bolts are extensively used in gas turbine engine components, including turbine casings, combustors, afterburner components, compressor assemblies, and missile systems. They maintain strength at temperatures up to 650°C (1200°F) for critical rotating applications and up to 870°C (1600°F) for simpler applications. Used in compressor and rotor discs, shafts, spacers, seals, rings, casings, and other engine hardware. Bihexagonal bolts are essential for applications subject to vibration and dynamic loads in airframe assemblies.
Waspaloy bolts in gas turbine fastening systems, steam turbine components, and power plant assemblies provide reliable fastening in high-temperature environments. Used in land-based gas turbines, turboexpander fasteners, and heat exchanger flange connections. Excellent creep resistance under sustained loading at elevated temperatures ensures long-term reliability in critical bolting applications. Eye bolts are used for turbine casing lifting and maintenance operations.
Waspaloy bolts qualified for downhole tooling components, wellhead equipment, and high-pressure valve systems in refineries and petrochemical plants. Resists sulfidation and hot corrosion in sulfur-containing environments encountered in oil refining. Hot Gas Expander components operating up to 760°C (1400°F) from Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) units are typically forged in Waspaloy. Bolts with silver-plated threads provide enhanced corrosion resistance in sour service.
Waspaloy bolts in high-temperature furnace components, heat treating equipment, chemical processing systems, and thermal reactor assemblies. Withstands combustion environments due to excellent resistance to relaxation at elevated temperatures, combined with appreciable oxidation resistance. Used in hot gas expander equipment where temperatures reach up to 760°C (1400°F). T-head bolts are ideal for high-temperature fixturing and test rig applications.
Waspaloy bolts in naval propulsion systems, marine gas turbines, and shipboard high-temperature exhaust systems. Excellent performance in salt spray environments found in gas turbine engine service. Resists oxidation and corrosion in marine atmospheres while maintaining high-temperature strength in propulsion applications. Tested in salt spray environments with excellent results. Silver-plated threads provide additional corrosion protection in saltwater environments.
Waspaloy bolts in high-performance turbochargers, exhaust systems, and racing engine components for extreme-duty applications. The alloy's ability to maintain strength at elevated temperatures makes it ideal for securing turbocharger housings, exhaust manifold flanges, and other components exposed to severe thermal cycling. Bihexagonal head designs prevent loosening in high-vibration racing environments.
RAYCHIN LIMITED manufactures Waspaloy bolts from vacuum induction melted (VIM) and vacuum arc remelted (VAR) or electroslag remelted (ESR) material conforming to the most widely used national and international specifications. All material is traceable to the mill.
Our Waspaloy bolts are produced from vacuum induction melted (VIM) and vacuum arc remelted (VAR) material conforming to the limits of AMS 5708, AMS 5544, and ASTM B637 standards.
Metallurgical note: Waspaloy is a precipitation-hardening nickel-based superalloy strengthened through the formation of gamma prime (γ') phase Ni₃(Al, Ti) in a disordered FCC matrix (γ). The alloy is produced by vacuum induction melting (VIM) and vacuum arc remelting (VAR) or electroslag remelting (ESR) to ensure high purity and consistent properties. High-temperature strength is obtained from solid solution strengthening elements (molybdenum, cobalt, chromium) and aging elements (aluminum, titanium). The alloy maintains excellent strength and stability at temperatures exceeding those of Alloy 718, making it the preferred choice for critical rotating applications up to 650°C (1200°F). Boron content (0.003-0.010%) plays a critical role in creep resistance and ductility at elevated temperatures. Waspaloy is more difficult to machine than other nickel-based superalloys due to its low heat dissipation, abrasive carbide elements, and high surface strain rate.
Waspaloy bolts are supplied in fully heat-treated condition per AMS specifications. Data represent typical values based on industry standards. For aerospace bolts, classification is typically 1210 MPa (ambient temperature) / 730°C per BS EN 3239 and EN 4120.
Waspaloy is renowned for exceptional high-temperature strength and stability, maintaining useful mechanical properties up to 870°C (1600°F) in oxidizing atmospheres. The alloy can be used at temperatures up to 650°C (1200°F) for critical rotating applications and up to 870°C (1600°F) for simpler applications. Waspaloy exhibits superior strength compared to Alloy 718 at temperatures exceeding 650-705°C (1200-1300°F). The alloy maintains approximately 60% of its room temperature tensile strength at 815°C (1500°F), with yield strength of 517 MPa (75 ksi). Excellent creep resistance under sustained loading at elevated temperatures ensures long-term reliability in gas turbine and aerospace applications. For aerospace bolts, components are classified for service up to 730°C (1350°F) per BS EN 3239 and EN 4120 standards, with minimum tensile strength of 1210 MPa at ambient temperature.
Waspaloy offers outstanding corrosion resistance in high-temperature oxidizing and sulfidizing environments, making it suitable for the most demanding applications in gas turbines, aerospace, and chemical processing. Hot corrosion can be divided into two types: type 1 (815 to 955°C) where salt is in a liquid state, and type 2 (595 to 815°C) where reaction rate can be very high. Waspaloy is designed to operate at high temperatures up to 700°C in aggressive environments, and up to 760°C for hot gas expander components. For enhanced corrosion resistance, many Waspaloy bolts are supplied with silver-plated threads per AMS 2410, providing additional protection against galling, oxidation, and salt spray.
All Waspaloy bolts are manufactured and tested to meet the following standards:
We offer surface finishes: plain (as-machined), chemical cleaned, passivated. Silver plating per AMS 2410 available for anti‑seize and enhanced conductivity – mandatory for aerospace bolts per EN 4120 specification.
